A local business is now the largest packaged fresh herb company east of California.
Shenandoah Growers has been in the area for 11 years and grows more than 20 herbs.
Now, they've bought a Florida based company and will double in size. That means more jobs in the area. Plus, the southern plants will enable them to grow year round.
That way they'll be able to increase their product line and the geographic area they supply.
"We've got a lot of customers in the Mid-Atlantic area so now we're picking up a large customer base in the mid-east and it gives us the capabilities of growing both north and south to meet that increased demand so we're really excited," Clyde Hisey says.
You can find these herbs at area Krogers or other chains up and down the east coast.
