Mosby the Dog's owner was in court Tuesday, fighting charges against himself.
John Adams, the owner of Staunton's former mascot shot and killed in August, was charged with assault and battery. He's accused of beating up 67-year-old James Coleman - the man charged with the dog's murder.
In court Tuesday, the judge said the case would remain under advisement for six months. As long as Adams stays away from Coleman and there's no further incidents, he won't be punished. James Coleman is set to stand trial on felony animal cruelty charges in February.
