First, Valley farmers were hit with the Avian flu, now shareholders are feeling the effects, too.
Pilgrim's Pride has revised its expected earnings for the third fiscal quarter.
They were looking for earnings of $0.27 to $0.32 per share.
Now they're expecting $0.02 to $0.05 per share. Pilgrim's Pride also announced plans Tuesday to close their turkey processing plant in Harrisonburg, and consolidate operations with their Hinton plant.
But the company says those plans have been in the works since they bought WLR Foods a year and a half ago.
