The burnout has begun on the forest fire in the George Washington National Forest. Firefighters could not begin back burning the fire until about 4 p.m. Tuesday evening because of strong winds.
Crews will be working all night and into tomorrow. Fire officials expect it to be successful since it's going to be a lot cooler tonight and the humidity is low.
When it's over the fire will be about 180 acres and should be completely contained.
