In fact, farmers will receive only 17 percent of the $757 million budgeted for U.S. Department of Agriculture programs over the next 10 years.

More than 70 percent of the money goes to food stamps, children's nutrition programs and temporary assistance for needy families.

But, Farm Bureau officials say the bill will provide more stability for farmers who can be affected dramatically by things like natural disasters and depressed prices.
