Harrisonburg's new high school plans are complete and the School Board is ready to take bids.
The school has been designed to meet the needs of the students in terms of education and extra curricular activities.
This is the largest building project the city has taken on and Superintendent Dr. Donald Ford says the Board has taken that into consideration with the design.
“In the design of the facility, the board has consciously tried to look at those areas where we could save funds and yet have a very effective school facility as far as programs are concerned,” said Dr. Ford.
Ford says the next step will be to receive the bids, which should be complete by Aug. 21.
Then a week to 10-days after, the Board will award a contract.
