A man is mourning his daughter just days after she was shot to death in Grottoes.

Ernest Perry Ware is Virginia Lynn Ware's father. Virginia was the victim in what police say was a domestic dispute that ended in gunfire.

Her alleged murderer, 44-year-old John Franklin Myers, turned himself in to police early Tuesday morning after Monday night shooting.

Ernest says he hopes for justice.

"I can only pray to God that the full extent of justice comes to him for what he's done," says Ernest. "Because he just jerked a piece of my heart away from me."

Myers has been charged with first degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm after being convicted of a felony.

Mr.Ware my heart goes out to you and your family, no one can begin to imagine the pain and loss of losing a child ,I know that pain! I pray one day we will be able to have that piece of our heart restored.This life we live does not make any sense. Dan Im also sad to hear of your loss and pain.God Bless

As a father who has lost his only biological child to a sensless murder, I whole heartedly concur with this young lady's father. It is becoming apparent these days that more and more people are sitting themselves up to be God and deciding who lives and who dies. This murderer has destroyed two families because of his narcissism and inability to display restraint and/or control as a real man. Shooting an unarmed woman is nothing short of total depravity. I pray that the court has no mercy.
