The Warren County Sheriff's Office is investigating a breaking and entering at a school.

Staff members at the Warren County Middle School in Front Royal found the building broken into the morning of September 4.

Deputies and officers from the Front Royal Police Department checked the building but found no one inside at the time.

Officials believe that once the suspect(s) got into the building, they vandalized windows and several items throughout the school.

They say a set of keys was taken from the main office and a cash register worth between $600 and $800 was taken from the cafeteria. An additional $100 to $200 was also taken.

At this time, officials cannot estimate how much damage was done.

The incident is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call Investigator Steve Goldizen at 540-635-7100 or Sgt. Gordon Foster at 540-635-4128.
