New charges Monday night for a Staunton woman accused of kidnapping her own daughter.
Mary Fritts "had" faced an abduction charge. "Instead" she's now been charged with violation of court-ordered custody.
Police say Fritts took her daughter back in 1994, and kept her on the run for nearly eight years, after a court ordered visitation rights for her husband.
Fritts turned herself in to Staunton police in April.
Because she allegedly took her daughter out of the state, she faces a "felony" charge.
She's out of jail on $25,000 bond.
