Church members and friends are remembering the Rev. Mark Niederbrock as a man devoted to God who struggled with his daughter's fixation on macabre music.

Niederbrock was buried Thursday in front of his modest white church in Appomattox County nearly a week after he, his wife, their daughter and the girl's friend were found fatally bludgeoned at his wife's Farmville home. He and his wife, Longwood University professor Debra Kelley, were separated.

Their daughter's boyfriend, 20-year-old aspiring horrorcore rapper Richard "Sammy" McCroskey III, is charged in Niederbrock's murder. Authorities say they expect to charge him in the other three deaths soon.

Dozens of people attended the graveside service. At least two fainted from the heat and required treatment.
