A new middle school may finally be one the way to one valley community. The plans are in and now it’s up to the Augusta County Board of Supervisors.
The school board has approved the $11.6 million offer from Thor Inc. to build the new middle school. Now it's up to the supervisors to approve the contract. In April of 2001, they rejected a bid to build a new contract.
However, this time there is more money available.
"It came in within budget within our considerations in fact it was a very good bid, so I don’t see any problems with it passing," says Tracey Piles a member of the Augusta County Board of Supervisors.
The Board of Supervisors will vote on the bid on Wednesday. If approved groundbreaking is set for March.
