Snow will continue overnight through early afternoon Monday. The heaviest period of snow is expected between midnight and sunrise. Accumulations will be in the 2- 8" range with more possible in higher elevations. The Northern Valley should expect 2"-5"+ while the Southern Valley should expect 4"-8"+. Roads will become snow covered and slippery. Travel will become dangerous, especially overnight when temperatures are below freezing. Dangerous travel will continue through the morning commute Monday.
Late last week it became official: The Star Solutions plan for I-81 is considered the best.
Once approved, big changes get underway. Here's a rundown of those changes. First, cars and trucks would be separate, with four lanes of traffic traveling in each direction. Interchanges will be revamped, some with "truck only flyovers."
A rail plan will be strongly efforted to divert some of the truck freight off of the road. As you travel along, you'll be charged a toll.
Originally those tolls were just for trucks. Now, the panel is supporting a policy of applying tolls to both cars and trucks.
