Residents have been lining up here at the ETNA gas station in Staunton since early this morning to get their chance to win the mega millions.

"They're buying 10, 20 at a time. They're saying you have to play to win," said Faye Gutshall, an employee. Virginia is among 11 states participating in the mega millions. Lottery officials estimate 3.2 million tickets will be sold in Virginia alone

Heather Santora is buying eight tickets, hoping to win."I'm going to buy a condo in Bermuda and give the rest of the money to my mom," said Santora. And, the 7-Eleven in Verona sold over 700 tickets within just a few hours. "We had one plant here McCoy, they bought about 400 dollars worth of tickets. I guess a bunch of employees went together," said Kyle Price, Manager of the store.

The odds of winning are 1 in 135 million.
