Patients in need of kidney dialysis in Page County may soon have drive a lot farther to get their treatment.
The University of Virginia Health System announced Tuesday it will end its involvement with Page Dialysis in Stanley in March.
UVA says it hopes to sell the center to Valley Health so it can continue operating but that deal hasn't yet been worked out.
If the center closes, patients would need to drive to Harrisonburg or Winchester to get treatment.

UVA is a state funded facility, so shame on the state of Virginia for doing this.

This is just ashamed. I can't believe what I am reading. I can't believe this was ever going to make money in the first place, but it should'nt be about money, it should be about saving people's lives. Im sure it is hard to make money in healthcare period with all the medicare and medicaid cuts. I can also tell you, shame on UVA. If I ever need to see a specialist, I will not be referred to UVA I promise. I want to know Im going to a hospital that cares about their patients.
