Harrisonburg Police say thieves broke into vehicles on South Main Street, Long Avenue and Northfield Court this week. The thieves took electronics and sunglasses. In all three cases, the vehicle had been left unlocked.
There is a similar case in Rockingham County, just outside Harrisonburg City limits. Deputies say someone broke into a car on Welch Lane Sunday night and stole a TV, CD player and speakers worth a total of $800. The thief broke a window to get inside the car.
In Page County, deputies are searching for a stolen truck. They say a red 1968 Chevrolet pickup was taken from the Land of Luray subdivision Saturday.
Deputies in Augusta County are reporting some vandalism. They say a sign was damaged at a business on Mount Torrey Road in Lyndhurst early Tuesday morning.
Staunton police have arrested a couple of accused shoplifters in the past week. They say 20-year-old Dakota Puckett tried to steal a case of beer from Walmart Saturday, and 24-year-old Brandon Powell tried to steal some pet supplies from Pets and Pals Monday. Both face petit larceny charges.
Deputies in Shenandoah County are reporting another copper theft. They say someone stole two copper cables from a business on Mount Olive Road in Toms Brook last week.
If you have any information about these cases, call your local sheriff's office or police department.
