Some bikers hit the road Sunday to help other families around the Valley. About 100 people took part in a charity motorcycle event.
Cargill in Timberville hosted a poker ride and proceeds will benefit the United Way.
Participants stopped at stations around the Valley to draw a card, and the bikers with the best hands won some prizes.
"More important this year, especially with the economic situation that we have. We're really blessed at our plant to be busy, to have a full schedule, and it's serving our communities. The wonderful employees we have here at Timberville are all about support for our communities," says Darrin Berkley, event coordinator.
Sunday's poker ride raised about $1,000 for the Harrisonburg-Rockingham United Way.
