The Page County Board of Supervisors is in the process of acquiring land for the new animal shelter.
In February, the board chose the Stanley Community Center as the site for the new facility, but voted to rethink that plan after hearing complaints.
The board has until April 30 to start construction on the shelter without facing fines from the state.
