Two unions are suing the Monongalia County school board, claiming it violated the state open meetings law by failing to include a dental benefits vote on its agenda.
The American Federation of Teachers and the West Virginia School Service Personnel Association say the board also failed to publicize the names of disciplined employees.
Superintendent Frank Devono says the board has agreed to nullify its vote on the dental benefits and is considering ways to put more information on its agenda.
He says it's also studying a past Ethics Commission ruling on releasing information about disciplinary actions.
Local AFT president Sam Brunett says that's a step in the right direction, but the unions want more transparency.
