A first degree murder charge against a Harrisonburg man was certified to a Rockingham County grand jury Thursday.

A first degree murder charge against a Harrisonburg man was certified to a Rockingham County grand jury Thursday.

John Franklin Myers is charged in the September shooting death of his ex-girlfriend, Virginia Lynn Ware, in front of her Grottoes home.

Police say the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute.

The 44-year-old's case will go before a grand jury in January.
