Harrisonburg Crossing has been named one of Virginia's most signifigant real estate projects of 2003. Judges point out the economic impact the shopping center is having on the valley since it employs more than 450 people. The center is also expected to generate more than a million dollars in new sales and property taxes for the city of Harrisonburg. And with anchor stores you'd normally have to drive to Roanoke or Richmond to visit, people who shop here say it's a one of a kind place for the valley. The other two signifigant developments are the Short Pump Town Center and the new Phillip Morris headquarters, both of which are in Richmond.
