The possible redirection of millions of dollars could be good news for two Valley schools.
A decision by the Town of Broadway to not use $8.5 million dollars in loans that it's entitled to mean Rockingham County can put the money towards other projects.
Those projects could be the ongoing construction and revitalization of Montevideo and Elkton middle schools. The loan would be then paid back with another loan the school previously applied for.
"As soon as the Literary Loan or the VPSA loan comes through which takes about three years to work up the list, that loan will be repaid and then we would have a normal VPSA or Literary loan out," says Dr. John Kidd, Superintendent of Rockingham County Schools.
A final decision will be voted on tomorrow night.
