Local motorcycle riders had a great day to hit the open road on Sunday.
The Shenandoah Harley Owners group held its "Spring Thaw Poker Run" on Sunday. It was their first run of the year, about 115 miles round trip and taking about four hours to complete.
And riders made five stops along the way to pick playing cards for a poker hand. When they were done, the best hand won.
And the riders say they couldn't have asked for better weather.
"Last year was a little slow getting started our season, because of all the rain," said Roscoe Miller. "But when we can start off like this, with the weather like this, it's just great."
The group usually goes on at least one run a month during the spring and summer.
Proceeds go toward their annual children's Christmas charity.
