Three ladies who've dedicated their lives to volunteerism and educating children were honored Wednesday at the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and Museum in Staunton.

Betty Landes, Nan Brown and Lucille Salatin have been teaching at the WWPL for a combined 60 years.

Landes worked as an interpreter, while Brown and Salatin started volunteering after retiring as teachers in the Virginia Public School system.

"The people here were so wonderful. They treat the volunteers just royally," says Brown.

"They will always be members of the Woodrow Wilson family. I have a feeling that if we have a special need, they will be here to continue service in some way," says Ellen Abernethy, museum educator.

The museum is set up in the restored home that was the birth place of President Woodrow Wilson.
