Six West Virginia communities are being honored for their efforts to beautify and clean up their corporate limits.

Beech Bottom, Bluefield, Dunbar, Fayetteville, Ranson and West Union were named Friday as the winners of the 2009 Clean Communities Award.

Each community will receive two road signs designating them as clean communities.

The program is part of the Make It Shine program within the state Department of Environmental Protection.

WHSV Poll
A committee in the House of Delegates has sent a bill to the House floor that would allow private, faith-based adoption agencies to discriminate against prospective parents based on their sexual orientation. Would you support this?

Yes, I think if it is a private organization it's okay.
No, there should be no discrimination.
It should depend on a case by case basis.
