A Valley man who is waiting for a heart transplant says the current health care system is putting his life at risk.

Bill Flynn lives in Frederick County and is on the heart transplant list.

However, he recently got word that he's losing his insurance coverage.

Flynn says no company will insure him now because of his pre-existing heart condition. In the meantime, he's doing whatever he can do to cover his medical bills.

"My sister gave me a lot of money, a lot of money," says Flynn. "And I asked her, I said, 'You didn't have to do that, sis.' She said, 'You know why I did it, because you don't need the stress to figure out how you're going to raise that money.'"

Flynn says there is no way to move up on the heart transplant list, because he has to show how he'll pay for it before he can get one.

WHSV Poll
A committee in the House of Delegates has sent a bill to the House floor that would allow private, faith-based adoption agencies to discriminate against prospective parents based on their sexual orientation. Would you support this?

Yes, I think if it is a private organization it's okay.
No, there should be no discrimination.
It should depend on a case by case basis.
