The Virginia Supreme Court says it will uphold a conviction and sentence handed down in a Rockingham County murder case.

Jonathan Grattan II appealed to the state's highest court, arguing about his competency to stand trial and saying he wasn't allowed to show proof of his mental state.

Grattan was convicted and sentenced to life for the April 2006 murder of a Bridgewater woman.

Grattan shot Carol Gardner while she was riding with her husband inside their car.

Her husband, who was driving, suffered severe injuries but survived. The shooting led to a 20 hour stand-off with police.

A committee in the House of Delegates has sent a bill to the House floor that would allow private, faith-based adoption agencies to discriminate against prospective parents based on their sexual orientation. Would you support this?

Yes, I think if it is a private organization it's okay.
No, there should be no discrimination.
It should depend on a case by case basis.
