Boy Scouts Unveil Plan for WV Camp to be Home to Jamboree
GLEN JEAN, W.Va. (AP) The Boy Scouts of America has unveiled plans to turn a section of West Virginia into the organization's fourth high-adventure camp.

The Boy Scouts of America has unveiled plans to turn a section of West Virginia into the organization's fourth high-adventure camp.
Scouts officials and Gov. Joe Manchin announced plans Wednesday for a camp to be built on a 10,600-acre tract in Fayette County between Glen Jean, Prince and Mount Hope.
The Summit: Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve is made possible, in part, by a $50 million gift from the San Francisco-based S.D. Bechtel Jr. Foundation.
The camp also will become the home of the scouts' national jamboree.
The camp is expected to take advantage of the New River Gorge National River and the recreational opportunities in the area. It will complement existing high-adventure bases in Minnesota, New Mexico and Florida.
