Officials say a woman has been killed in an accident at the Pilgrim's Pride plant in Timberville.

Police say a Dr. Pepper truck driver had finished making a delivery to the plant and was preparing to leave around 5:50 a.m. when he ran over a woman employed at the plant.

They say it was raining at the time of the accident and the parking lot where it occurred was not well lit.

Police have identified the victim as 66-year-old Bonnie K. Dellinger.

In a statement, Pilgrim's Pride spokesperson Ray Atkinson writes, "Bonnie was a longtime, valued employee who had worked for our company for more than 40 years. She was respected and loved by her co-workers, and we will all miss her."

The truck driver, Eddie Dale Campbell of Waynesboro, was backing up to leave the property at the time.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing and there is no word about charges at this time.

No words can be said to take away the sorrow, but we have nothing but prayers for both families. As a Pilgrams Pride employee we should put our best foot forward and pull together without finger pointing
