Geithner Urges Congress to Overhaul Financial Rules
WASHINGTON (AP) Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner says Congress must keep pushing forward to overhaul the nation's badly flawed financial rules because revamping the system is essential for the health of the economy.

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner says Congress must keep pushing forward to overhaul the nation's badly flawed financial rules because revamping the system is essential for the health of the economy.
In prepared congressional testimony, Geithner seeks to keep pressure on Congress to change the regulatory regime that failed so terribly in last year's financial crisis.
He says both the House and Senate are making progress toward revamping the current rules, but that a rapid conclusion of the effort is critical to ensure the economic recovery remains on track.
