The state is investigating a gasoline leak that polluted a small stream in Roanoke County.

Allen Linkenhoker with the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality says an estimated 50 to 100 gallons of gasoline linked into a small tributary of Carvins Creek. The leak was reported Thursday night.

Linkenhoker says the gasoline appeared to be coming from an old concrete storm drain.

The leak was contained to about a 200-foot area of the creek. Absorbents are being used to clean up the gasoline.

WHSV Poll
A committee in the House of Delegates has sent a bill to the House floor that would allow private, faith-based adoption agencies to discriminate against prospective parents based on their sexual orientation. Would you support this?

Yes, I think if it is a private organization it's okay.
No, there should be no discrimination.
It should depend on a case by case basis.
