posting to say Im very glad for Gil and speak in name of all of us(Uruguayans) that are happy for you,, Fuerza Gil..!!
I know the same feeling to get a phone call and feel like the luckiest sister in the world. My brother, Nathaniel, also was a survivor in the Advance Hydrology class. Like Gil, whom I have heard so much about, his life is a miracle, for his survival seems so impossible. Someone must have been there that day. Oh, by the way the shooter walked into the classroom three times, the last time he only shot once then shut the door; before shooting once more, then silence fell.
I cried after reading this story of how the Lord still let Gil lives. Cried because it must be very very sad for anyone to loose his family member or a friend. I think of Bang Mora's (Partahi Mamora H Lombantoruan) parents, the Indonesians whose son was killed, whose son was on top of Gil. But Bang Mora did save Gil with his own life, literary with his body and his blood. Knowing this type of sacrifice is very very rare and very very special, therefore I know for sure Bang Mora did that because he knew that Jesus did the same thing to Bang Mora 2000 years ago. As Christian, Mora loves His Lord and loves others and Bang Mora prooved that. If I were the father of Mora, I am very honored to have a son like that.... To Gil, your life is precious and from now on you can see that The Lord Jesus can use any one at any incident to help you and yes : HE IS TRUSTWORTHY ! God be with you. 25/4/07 Baroto : studiopalem@yahoo.com
Gil, this is just to tell you that people all across the globe are with you and all others who were unfortunate enough to be involved in this tragedy! Words may never be enough to provide succour but it is really sad that one insane student could inflict so much senseless pain and suffering in just 2 hours. May God be with you always!!
Hai Gil, I will help you if you need some help for made condolences to Partahi Mamora parents (student from Indonesia). I am the one of Partahi Mamora's collegua in Parahyangan Catholic University Indonesia. You could send to my email address Josephine_as@cbn.net.id. God bless u
This is a very touching & revealing story. All this is because of the sins of Adam and Eve. Yes 33 were killed yet God still defeated Satan through the ones that lived to witnees to the world that is was The Blood that saved them all.
"For we know that all things work together for good to those who love God and are the called according to His purposes." Romans 8:28 Not a few things, not many things, and not some things, but all things work together for good for those who love God and are called by Him for His purposes. When tragedy strikes, we so often seek the reason why or get caught up in how it could have been prevented. These are valid questions, and we need to ask them, but we may never have complete answers to them. What we need to do is focus on our sovreign Lord who is always good and promises to take what is a terrible tragedy and turn it into good, like this survivor story. Stand firm in the Lord, Gil. When all else fails and is sinking sand, Jesus Christ will never leave you nor forsake you. May you bless God for His providence that permitted you to live and may your voice sound louder than the hopelessness and chaos the situation seems to bring to those who don't know the Lord. Thank you for sharing your life with those of us who don't personally know you.
My heart and prayers go out to Gil and family as well as everyone at VT. And to Gil, may God continue to watch over you and shine his blessings upon you. You will always be in my thoughts!
I am a JMU alumni and my heart aches for the Hokies, our brothers and sisters in VA and beyond. Your life is a miracle, Gil. What an incredible story. May you and your family be blessed as God reveals Himself in the unfolding chapters of your life.
