A former West Virginia state trooper who resigned amid a criminal investigation into a woman's allegation that he sexually assaulted her is now Hinton's police chief.

The Charleston Gazette reported Derek S. Snavely's appointment Sunday. Snavely resigned last December after a woman accused him of forcing her to have sex with him following a traffic stop.

Snavely admits in civil court filings to having sex with the woman while on duty, but says it was consensual.

Kanawha County prosecutors declined to bring charges against Snavely, saying there was no evidence of forcible compulsion. Attempts to reach Snavely for comment were unsuccessful.

Hey, A. When did you last take a look at a map? Hinton is in West Virginia... South of I-64 and east of Beckley...

Go back to West Virginia. We don't want our taxes to pay your salary while you have sex on the clock.

A committee in the House of Delegates has sent a bill to the House floor that would allow private, faith-based adoption agencies to discriminate against prospective parents based on their sexual orientation. Would you support this?

Yes, I think if it is a private organization it's okay.
No, there should be no discrimination.
It should depend on a case by case basis.
