Augusta County deputies are investigating several shots that were fired at random early Monday morning. Some Cold Springs Road residents in Stuarts Draft say they're nervous about the morning gunfire.

One victim says multiple houses were hit in the shooting. Some neighbors woke up to banging on their front doors, while others say they woke to loud thumps.

James Fielding, who lives in one of the houses that was hit, says there is a rumor this was some kind of gang initiation. Augusta County deputies cannot confirm if this case was gang related.

Fielding says he was in the basement when the shots were fired into his home. He says it sounded like a refrigerator dropped on the floor, with smaller bangs after.

He says his parents were running around frantically when their house was hit.

Augusta County deputies are still investigating the incidents. No one was reported injured.
