Two people died when a 1968 Piper Cherokee private-aircraft crashed in Augusta County Sunday.
On Monday, the investigation to the cause of the accident began in Deerfield. The NTSB and FAA have sent officials to determine the cause of the crash.
"We expect the investigation to last six to 12 months," commented NTSB Investigator Robert Gretz. "We don't have much to go on because 70 percent of the aircraft was destroyed by fire."
As this was a private aircraft, there were no black boxes on the plane to give investigators an on-board account of the flight.
