One area had its holiday feast a day early. More than 500 people showed up for a Thanksgiving dinner in Southern Augusta County Wednesday night.
It's an annual event thrown by the Old Providence Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Raphine. The church's youth group helped cook, serve and do the dishes.
Church members say people were lined up outside the building an hour before the dinner even began.
"It's so important for the community to get together and have a chance to renew acquaintances and friendships, and we give everyone a chance to enjoy a good Thanksgiving meal," says Max Bolin, pastor of the Old Providence Church.
Residents gave donations to the church youth group throughout the dinner.
