Augusta County deputies are still looking for one of two men who they say is responsible for at least two shootings.

In the meantime, they want residents in the neighborhood where the shootings occurred to be on alert.

Police hope to arrest James Breckenridge for his role in the shooting at two separate locations in Stuarts Draft November 23.

"We're going to continue to have increased patrols throughout the area, and we're encouraging everyone that if they see something or hear something unusual, to give us a call," say Cpl. Michael Roane, with the Augusta County Sheriff's Office.

Roane says an investigation has revealed that the shootings on Cold Springs Road and Howardsville Turnpike in Stuarts Draft are connected. The sheriff's office believes someone living in a home on Howardsville Turnpike may have been the target.

"It was an occupied house at the time of the shooting, which is why those charges were placed," says Roane.

Breckenridge faces a number of charges including attempted murder.

Roane says the sheriff's office has received a steady number of tips, but with the whereabouts of Breckenridge still unknown, it urges the community to keep and eye out for him. However, anyone who sees him should keep their distance.

"He is considered armed and dangerous, and he is to be avoided at all cost. Just call us and let us deal with him," says Roane.

Because of the nature of the charges that Breckenridge faces, deputies want neighbors to remain vigilant.
