Five people were sent to the hospital Friday after a head-on crash near Skyline Drive.

Two cars were involved in the crash on Route 33 in the Shenandoah National Park, about 1.5 miles from Skyline Drive.

State Trooper Joe Taylor says Lisa Neiderman's car crossed the center line and swiped the front side of Eunis Dovel's car.

Neiderman was charged with failure to drive on the right side of the highway.

Dovel was flown to the University of Virginia Medical Center and is in fair condition. Four others were also hospitalized but their injuries are not thought to be serious.
