U.S. troops and military families say they have mixed feelings about President Barack Obama's plan to send 30,000 more American troops into Afghanistan.
The Associated Press interviewed service members and their families Tuesday as Obama laid out his strategy in a televised address.
Bill Thomas, who watched the speech at his home near Camp Lejeune, North Carolina said he supports Obama's plan as long as he doesn't send extra troops in vain. Thomas has a son headed to Afghanistan with the Marines next year.
Jamie Copeland, the wife of a Marine at Camp Lejeune, said she wishes the war was over. But she said Marines need reinforcements in Afghanistan.
Army Pfc. Jeff Williams, a soldier at Fort Drum, New York, said he's "more than ready" to go.

This President is not in this to Win. He never mentioned Victory - Not Once. He is BAD for this country. My prayers go out to my fellow brothers in arms. May God Bless Each and Every One of You!
My son-in-law is getting ready for his 3rd combat tour. You know....we NEED the draft back. More than one year in a combat zone is enough. The military turns boys into men, that's why we have so many immature 'men' running the country!!!
