Gary Post Sr. was shot and killed last April in Richmond... And police are still looking for the shooter. A family member of the Post family actually put up the $15,000 reward to jump-start the investigation...And Mr. Posts' wife and sons hope this money will lead the shooter to justice.
"He was just...A good guy, there was no sense in this, he was a good guy," says Mary Post, the widow of Gary Post Sr.
Mary Post is still mourning the murder of her husband of almost 28 years...Gary Post...After he was shot and killed in a hotel room in Richmond just two months ago. Even though the Henrico County Sheriff's Office has been helpful with the family...They say there are still no leads in the investigation. And that's why one family member who wishes to remain anonymous stepped forward and offered a $15,000 reward from his 401k to help with the investigation.
"That maybe the reward will make someone come forward," says Mary Post. "We know that somebody had to have seen something that night and we're hoping that that maybe the incentive will be...That maybe this will be the incentive for them to come forward and talk."
The Posts' say some type of reward was talked about since the murder happened.
"It's too populated of an area...There were too many people around not to....for somebody have not to seen something," says Gary Post Jr.
Without any hope from authorities....the Posts' have received an overwhelming amount of support from the community.
"The prayer cards, the masses that have been said, the flowers, the food, the out pour has been overwhelming," says Mary and Gary Post Jr. "This community is...It's the best around that's why Gary loved this place so much."
The Posts' hope the suspect is caught...Not only for closure for their own family....
"Nothing will ever bring him back, but our main concern is to not see this happen to another family," says Gary Post Jr.
Mr. Posts' sister, Nancy Greene in a statement said... "Hate and revenge will not bring him back, but justice may keep another family from the grief and emptiness that our family is now experiencing."
