People interested in the world's religions can now learn about them online, without traveling to the campus of West Virginia University.
WVU has created a religious studies minor with five courses that are open to traditional and nontraditional students alike.
Program coordinator Aaron Gale says the courses include the history of Christianity, studies in Hebrew scriptures and "Religion 350: Biblical Ethics and Current Issues."
Gale says there's growing interest in religion because it's always on TV and in the news. The online program gives people across West Virginia a way to learn more.
It also offers a chance to study abroad.
Next year, students can participate in an archaeological dig in Israel. A trip to Turkey and Greece is in the works.
