While some people in the Valley saw a mixture of snow, rain, and ice, Harrisonburg residents saw a lot of sleet and frozen precipitation falling.
It fell fast overnight, but by Wednesday afternoon, the sun was shining and temperatures were rising.
Students at James Madison University's Rockingham Hall were all bundled up, braving the cold on their walk to and from school.
Snow and some sleet still remain on parked cars and remnants of the weekend's snow storm are still visible. A snowman on Harrisonburg's Court Square is still intact.
In other places, patches of snow are turning to puddles.
The elements were melting and dripping from cars.
While there are still puddles and wet roadways, visibility has cleared, which has made driving much easier.
As temperatures rose, the threat of icy roads diminished and created less of a hazard for Valley drivers. Virginia State Police say the Valley was spared.
VSP 1st Sgt. Bryan Hutcheson says, "I think we were fortunate with this one. I don't know if it wasn't cold enough or however you might look at it, but we brace ourselves, try to prepare, have the folks ready, our troopers out there ready to go. If it comes, we do the best we can and if it doesn't we just kind of thank our lucky stars."
State Police also reminded people that road conditions could be different throughout the Valley.
