Dominion Resources and BP Wind Energy say in a new report that Tazewell County can tax turbines at a proposed wind farm on East River Mountain.

The report presented recently to the Tazewell County Planning Commission considers turbine towers and foundations, as well as buildings and other property real property subject to taxation. The East River Mountain project's real property would be worth approximately $40 million, while the report places the value of personal property such as the electrical collection system at $80 million.

An earlier report estimated the project would give Tazewell County $9.2 million in tax revenues over 20 years.
