WAYNESBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE - The Waynesboro Police Department arrested a Waynesboro man, Thomas Neal Tait, 52, on 20 counts of Possession of Child Pornography. This comes after a year long investigation.
Investigators seized Tait's computer and it contained more than 80,000 images of children being sexually abused. Many of the images depict children younger than 2 years old being sexually assaulted by adults.
The Waynesboro Police Department received assistance in this investigation by both the Virginia State Police and various federal law enforcement agencies.
Tait was taken into custody Monday without incident and is being held without bond in the Middle River Regional Jail.
