Enrollment has reached an all time high at Blue Ridge Community College.
Their for-credit enrollment is over 3,000 students. That's up 25 percent from two years ago. The biggest increase is in the college transfer program, where students are guaranteed admission to JMU.
That's one reason the college president thinks enrollment is up, but he says the economy is also play a part.
"People are realizing they need more than just high school they need to retrain things are changing greatly in the world and they need additional skills beyond the skills they already have," Jim Perkins says.
The veterinary technology and nursing programs have also been increased to accommodate the rising enrollment.
