Virginia Gets 40 New State Troopers
Starting Monday, two new troopers will report to duty in the Valley.

State funding cuts delayed their career goals, but more than 40 people will join the Virginia State Police Friday.
Those troopers will graduate in Richmond from a 36-week training session. The start of that session was delayed until last April because of the economy.
Starting Monday, two troopers will report to duty in the Valley.
David Goins and Cheri Johnson have been assigned to a patrol in Shenandoah. Goins is from Troutdale, in southwest Virginia. Johnson is from Knoxville, Tennessee.

I think that with the Rockingham Sherifs department having to cut help they should give the people there a chance at the state police jobs first instead of letting people from out of state have the jobs.

Are we hiring more State Troopers to handle the increase in car accidents since we are cutting VDOT's funds???
