The Valley Deputies in Page County are kicking off the new year by investigating an old crime.

Deputies in Page County are kicking off the new year by investigating an old crime. Deputies say someone put roofing nails on Fleeburg Road in an attempt to damage vehicles. Several vehicles had their tires damaged by the nails. This type of vandalism has been an ongoing issue in the county.
Harrisonburg Police say someone broke into several newspaper stands over the weekend and took money from inside. The damage was on Chicago and Virginia avenues.
Waynesboro Police report that three men broke into Valley Pool Monday morning and ransacked the business, causing $1,000 of damage. Police arrested Buford Bollinger, Kevin Swisher, and Armando Del Cruiz Martinez Jr., and charged them with destruction of property and burglary.
Deputies in Rockingham County say someone stole several tires from Myers Ford Company in Elkton. The tires were taken from a car on the lot Sunday night.
In Augusta County, a resident reports that someone stole a furnace from a front yard on Breezewood Lane, near Staunton. Deputies say the victim was remodeling and had the furnace outside. The furnace was not functional.
Deputies in Shenandoah County arrested a Toms Brook man for celebrating the New Year in an illegal way. Deputies say Charles Saxon Jr. shot several shotgun rounds into the air shortly after midnight from his front porch. Deputies say Saxon had been drinking. He was cited for reckless handling of a firearm.
