The Commonwealth Transportation Board approved an $11 billion transportation plan Thursday. for the next six years.

It includes more than 200 road and rail projects and it begins July 1.

The Valley can expect truck climbing lanes as well as acceleration and deceleration lanes on Interstate 81.

Plans to remove bottle necking on Port Republic Road in Rockingham County are also on tap.
