State police say they're having a problem with speeding, aggressive driving, even racing on some of the Valley's mountain highways.

Among the biggest offenders are motorcyclists. They've been a part of three deadly accidents on US 211 in the last six months. Police are stepping up enforcement to curb the problem.

"We started that series of enforcement efforts about a month ago, and it's proven to have cut back on some of the accidents," says Sgt. Gary Settle with the Virginia State Police.

VDOT has lowered the speed limit on 211 in an effort to reduce accidents. Police say the mountain attracts so many motorcyclists because of the challenge created by curvy roads.
