Poultry continues to stand as Virginia's largest agricultural commodity. In fact, Rockingham County was the second largest poultry county in the nation in 2002 - generating cash receipts of $326 million.

But that could change in Hinton's Pilgrim's Pride plant closes come October. On Friday, Virginia Lt. Governor Tim Kaine talked with local turkey co-op growers about their problems.

Next week, the co-op is expected to find out what help, if any, state government can provide.
