Harrisonburg police on Saturday responded to the scene of a suspicious package they thought could be a bomb.
Around 10 a.m., police were called to the Royal Food Store and gas station at 1770 East Market Street. There was a report of a suspicious package near the gas pumps. It was a silver briefcase.
Bomb-sniffing dogs and technicians from the State Police and from Loudon County arrived on scene. The briefcase was x-rayed and then opened remotely. It turned out to be a laptop computer belonging to an attorney in New York.
No explosives were found.
